Family History

Our family is one of those, who never stopped the winemaking tradition and kept it through many generations!

Our ancestral winemaking dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. Information about Mikha Khakhutashvili and his son Giorgi Khakhutashvili, known as "Kalakela," was preserved in Chenti. They were involved in winemaking and Chacha distilleries. Giorgi Khakhutashvili, a successful winemaker, unfortunately passed away at the young age of 33, leaving behind three sons: Shota, Elguja, and Temur. We belong to the Elguja branch, and all three brothers have been engaged in viticulture and winemaking since childhood. Elguja, during his early years, managed the vineyard farm in the Gremi area. This venture also laid the foundation for our cellar and guest house, which we are continuously expanding and improving.

Our Wines

Our vineyards are located in one of the unique terroir in Gremi village named as a Royal vineyards, which are surrounded by the Great Caucasus mountains.

As said above, we have never stopped using traditional method of winemaking and still using “Qvevri” for the fermentation and aging process.  Also we make green vintage to keep the grapes in a high quality, we don’t use chemicals neither in our vineyards nor in our wine, to keep it organic!
